Homework 2
The second part of the homework was to do the same with bloglines.
Again, amazing how you can go onto youtube and find very comprehensive tutorials/videos of how to do something.
The first one I watched was a tutorial on how to organise and track your favourite blogs. Similarly to the wordpress tutorials, you can learn so much from just sitting at your workstation and work at your own pace. This tutorial was 10 minutes long, tracked exactly what you do to set up a blogline, organise your folders and demonstrated the use of being able to keep in contact with other people’s blogs. I think that most people who have not used bloglines would find this tutorial to be very helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRed_OAiugI

| Posted 4 years, 2 months agoWell Im very impressed – unfortunately or fortunately I enjoyed the sunshine at home but will endeavour to catch up in the weekend as its bound to rain at some stage in Dunedin. I do not enjoy using a computer at home as think I spend long enough during the day looking at a screen and would rather interact with friends and a glass of red wine!

Nice one Rach.. poor Lynn still sees this an an either/or and not as a necessity for her profession (being a teacher – whose core business is information and communition!
And this being a technology for just that…
After commenting here (my homework) I too am going to go home, water the garden and drink a beer. Then I might just quickly check my bloglines before dinner and see if Lynn has brought herself to the task yet.. then I might load up a movie from Google video (seeing as TV is so crpppy these days..), while the video loads, I’ll make some dinner and maybe listen to a podcast I found through bloglines a few days ago… then my wife and I will sit down with desert and watch the video that we downloaded. Might even invite some friends around too, poor devils – having to rely on a TV, radio and a newspaper for their info

Unfortunately my computer at home is not operational at the moment so have to rely on using the time at work to look at blogs etc.
I will do my best to catch up!!!

In 2008 the Illawarra T&H teacher’s are planning every other week on a Wednesday afternoon 3.30 – 4.30 to get together and share pedagogy and learning…hoping we can hook up with NZ teachers via web conferencing. Also build upon the work done with media wiki, more to follow..
